PROGRAM GUIDELINES

Violence will not be tolerated.  You will be asked to leave the program for:

·                     Physical or verbal abuse of youth, staff, neighbours or others

·                     The possession of weapons or items which staff view as potentially dangerous

·                     Racist, sexist, or homophobic comments, language or behavior

·                     Recruiting of any kind – encouraging: drug use (dealing or giving drugs to groups members), sex trade involvement, criminal activity etc.

·                     The use of drugs / alcohol on the premises

You may be asked to leave the group or the program for:

·         The possession of drugs, alcohol and/or paraphernalia

·         Relationships, friendships and/or hanging out with other group members while in the program

·         Breaking confidentiality

·         Glorification of drugs or drug culture

·         Disturbing the neighbours

We ask you to respect the following:

·         Smoking is only permitted outside in a designated area – please use the butt can provided & keep this area clean.

·         Cell phones and pagers must be turned off while attending the program

·         Program phones may only be used with staff permission – no social calls

·         If you are going to be late or absent please call program staff @ 438-3755

·         Please let staff know if you will be leaving the site during the program

·         No borrowing or lending ANY items from other youth (ex. money, cigarettes, clothing etc.)

·         Participate to the best of your ability and inform staff if you need any support or if you have any special needs.  

As a group member at the Watari Day Program, I agree to respect the above guidelines to the best of my ability and to participate in maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
