Individualised Community Outreach
Watari has a long history of providing individualized one to one support to at risk youth and adults who have been referred by social workers, probation officers or a community agency.
This current project is serving a very specific population of high risk aboriginal youth who are disconnected from most services.
All youth accessing the ICO Project will be referrals through Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Services Society (VACFSS) and youth specific goals will be set for each case.
The overall project goals are to reconnect youth with their caregivers, increase their access to mainstream services and support them to make safe, healthy choices in all areas of their lives.
